Editorial policy and sourcing

Last updated

1. Scope

cz.wiki is an encyclopedia-style reference about Changpeng Zhao (CZ): biography, career, Binance, legal affairs, views, philanthropy, investments, controversies, praise and criticism, quotations and media. Comprehensive means that favourable and unfavourable information is both included; this is neither a fan site nor a critics' site. The site is unofficial, is not affiliated with Changpeng Zhao or Binance, does not impersonate him and does not speak for him.

2. Sourcing rules (mandatory)

  1. Every factual statement carries a numbered reference: original link, publisher and date. Content without a source is not published.
  2. Primary sources first: court and government documents (Department of Justice, SEC and others), original posts from the person's own accounts, official announcements. Mainstream media come next; secondary compilations such as Wikipedia are treated only as leads, and what rests on them is marked [verification needed] until traced to the original.
  3. Quotations must include the original wording and its source. Translations are labelled as such. "Attributed sayings" are not collected.
  4. Numbers and dates are not estimated. Where sources disagree, both are shown and the entry is flagged (for example the personal fine of US$50 million versus US$150 million in a book blurb).
  5. Where feasible each source is archived on archive.org (web pages) or saved as a snapshot (files, video, podcasts), and the archive link and time are recorded. A link is shown as an archive only if a capture really exists.
  6. Allegations are kept apart from findings: what a plaintiff claims is written as an allegation; what a judgment or document states is written as fact.
  7. A statement that cannot yet be sourced is marked [citation needed]; it is a to-do for editors, not a claim.

3. Neutral point of view

On disputed topics, supportive and critical statements are included side by side, attributed to who said them and dated. Any editorial commentary is boxed separately and signed "editorial".

4. Live feed and promotion into articles

The live feed is collected automatically from public feeds every few minutes. Everything in it is unverified until a human reviews it; it is labelled as such and is never presented as an article fact. Items move into articles only after review. Machine-translated titles in the feed are labelled with the tool that produced them.

5. AI-generated content and translations

Any AI-generated summary, analysis, translation or commentary is shown in the standard component below, visually apart from sourced facts, and states: (1) which AI produced it, (2) what it was based on, (3) when, and (4) that it is a provisional machine output. It must not be cited as fact and is regenerated, replaced or withdrawn when sources are updated or a human reviews it.

Translations. The English text is the canonical version. All other language versions are machine translations of the English text produced with Codex CLI, as stated in the notice on every translated page; the English version prevails wherever the two differ. Quotations always remain in their original language.

6. No investment advice

The site offers no buy or sell advice and recommends no token or exchange. Price and market content is not published, or appears only as a sourced historical record.

7. Privacy and family

Only information that relates to the public role and has a reliable source is included. Information about family members and minors is not expanded by default.

8. Corrections and history

Each article has a public revision history (the History tab) listing the date, a summary and the sources added with each change. Contact details for corrections are coming soon. Correction requests from the person concerned or from companies are checked by the same process; requests to delete content without a source are not accepted.
